An 1885 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword. 40” overall, 34” slightly curved blade with spear point & single broad fuller. Forte dated 1885, on the obverse are ‘WD’ inspector’s marks and ‘YC’. Steel bowl guard with Maltese cross. Cancelled stamp of 11th Hussars. Chequered grip retained with five rivets. In its original regulation ox eyed steel scabbard with ‘Mole Patent’ marked on throat piece & military inspector’s marks.
