A Fine Flintlock Duelling Pistol by Tatham & Egg. 15 7/8” overall, 9 ¾” 32 bore octagonal barrels with blade fore sight signed in a gold tablet ‘Tatham & Egg’, gold line at breech, rear sight on engraved tang. Platinum touch hole, barrel numbered 847 on underside, no proofs. Case hardened wheat ear border engraved flat detented locks signed ‘Tatham & Egg’, flat French cock, narrow pan, roller on frizzen safety catch. Highly figured full stock with horn fore end cap and chequered butt with flat bottom and a silver Greek key engraved band and oval steel plate engraved ‘Tatham & Eggs Improvement No. 847’. Steel spurred D-shaped trigger guards each decorated with scrolling trophies of the arts on the border engraved bow, silver barrel bolt escutcheons, set triggers, original  horn tipped ramrod with worm.

Best quality pistol in good condition, barrels with some original finish.
