Terms, Postage and Privacy Policy


All items are guaranteed to be authentic and of the date stated.

Where we are able to provide provenance, this is done in good faith based on information passed to us and research from reputable sources, such as Army Lists, etc. Condition reports, further information and extra pictures are freely available upon request.

All items are sold as Antique Collectors' items and are not intended for use.

Items on this website may not be purchased by persons under 18 years of age.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to comply with any import restrictions in the country of delivery.

Placing an order with West Street Antiques is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.


Items purchased will be posted as soon as our bank confirms receipt of payment in full.

Payments for items must be made in British pounds (£) sterling using the following methods:

We prefer payment by bank transfer and also accept Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa/Delta/Electron, Discover, Switch/Maestro, Solo and personal cheques, UK bank issued only. Please contact us for details.

Payment should be received by West Street Antiques within 5 working days of agreeing the sale. Should payment not be received within this time the item may be made available for sale again.

A detailed receipt will be provided, usable as a valuation for insurance purposes.


UK Deliveries: Free on all items, sent by DPD next day delivery and require to be signed for


Non UK:   Swords, Bayonets, Knives, Militaria: Free delivery.  All other items will be charged at cost, please contact us for a quote


All items are insured in transit by West Street Antiques.


West Street Antiques is not responsible for any Customs duties or taxes levied by the Customs organizations in the country of delivery.



You have a fourteen day inspection period from the date of receipt of the item. During this time if you have any queries or, in the rare event that you do not wish to keep the item, please contact us. Returned items should be packaged securely (we recommend using the packaging that it was sent in) and sent securely - we will be happy to advise. On receipt by West Street Antiques, and assuming the item to be in the same condition as originally shipped, we will refund the full purchase price of the item.


Part Exchange

Items previously purchased from West Street Antiques will be considered in part exchange, at the original purchase price, against a more expensive piece, as long as they have been retained for at least one year. Other items will be considered at our discretion.


By separate agreement it may be possible to pay for an item in 3 instalments over 3 months. One third of the purchase price must be paid at the outset. West Street Antiques will then issue a schedule of payments for the remaining two thirds. The item will remain the property, and in the possesion, of West Street Antiques until full payment is received. Should payment in full not be made by the agreed date West Street Antiques shall be entitled to retain, as a restocking fee, from the sums already paid, a sum equivalent to 20% of the total purchase price per complete calendar month that the item has been reserved.


All photographs on the website are the property of West Street Antiques and must not to be reproduced without prior permission.

Reservation of Title

Title to items supplied by West Street Antiques remains with West Street Antiques until payment has been made in full.

Firearms and Shotguns

 Licence Requirements

 Sporting guns, rifles will only be released to a valid and appropriate  Firearm / Shotgun certificate holder.

 Section 1 Firearms and require a valid British Firearms Certificate or Registered Firearms Dealer licence to be produced before it may be released.

 Section 2 Firearms and require a valid British Shotgun Certificate or Registered Firearms Dealer licence to be produced before it may be released.

 PLEASE NOTE: Examination is purely external, firearms are not stripped or function tested as a matter of course, and it is recommended that any purchase is stripped and cleaned, and that the firing and safety mechanisms are checked by a qualified gunsmith before use. It is the responsibility of the buyer to satisfy himself that the purchase meets his requirements before use.

1 . How Do We Collect Information?

  • agree to sell your property through West Street Antiques or ask us to perform a valuation

3 . Who Has Access To Your Information?


  • Your personal data will be processed by West Street Antiques.
  •  Where it is necessary to enable us to provide you with the services you have requested, we will transfer your personal data to third parties (for example: we may transfer your data to our bank, payment card system operators, shippers, , insurers, catalogue and direct marketing fulfilment and distribution). These organisations will only use the information to carry out the instructed services and on the basis, that the information is confidential and secure. Some of these organisations may be located outside the EEA (please see below).
  • We do not transfer your personal data to third parties who wish to use it for their own marketing or other purposes.
  • We may need to carry out anti-money laundering and trade sanction checks and for us to do so we may need to retain and disclose certain information about you to appropriate agencies. This is also to assist with fraud, crime prevention and detection.
  • We will only disclose your personal data when we receive a request from a government or law enforcement authority to provide your data in two situations: when we are ordered to do so by a court; or after we have undertaken an internal review and conclude that the institution making the request has both complied with the correct procedure and has the right to seek disclosure.
  • Third parties who provide services for us, for example Mail Chimp. We select our third-party service providers with care. We provide these third parties with only the information that is necessary to provide the service and we will have an agreement in place that requires them to operate with the same care over data protection as we do

We may also disclose your personal information if we are required to do so under any legal obligation and may use external data for the purposes of fraud prevention and credit risk reduction, or where doing so would not infringe your rights, but is necessary and in the public interest.

Other than this, we will not share your information with other organisations without your consent.
