A cased pair of Travelling Pistols by Thomas Conway of Manchester, 9” overall. 4” round 32 bore barrels with Birmingham proofs, engraved ‘Manchester’ on the top flat, engraved tang. Flat bevelled border engraved stepped lockplate signed ‘Conway’. Coarsely chequered bag shaped butts with iron trigger guard and ramrod pipe; trigger guard is engraved with a trophy of arms and pineapple finial. Swan neck cock, waterproof pans, rollers on frizzen spring, walnut full stock, brass tipped ramrods with worms. Contained in their deal campaign case with brass corners, with accessories including a small powder flask, bullet mould, loading rod, turn screw, with Conway’s label to lid.
