A good pre 1809 pattern Brown Bess, 39" barrel with Ordnance proofs, regulation border engraved lock with swan neck cock marked Tower & crown over GR with viewer's mark & Tower on the tail. Walnut full stock with regulation brass furniture with forward sling swivels and steel ramrod. Tail of butt plate engraved '1-B-39 REGT.' for the 39^th Dorsetshire Regiment who have the battle honours of Albubera, Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive,Orthes, & Peninsula..
